Faced with growing criticisms over its ability to be neutral, Cameroon’s election organ will meet with political parties and civil society groups in Yaounde on Wednesday to persuade critics to give it a chance. Voter registration and ELECAM’S technical and material readiness for next year’s presidential election will top the agenda but it is expected that questions about the organ’s largely ex-CPDM makeup would dominate talks. It comes after a series of separate consultations between the organ and political parties.
