One inmate succeeded to escape and one was stopped, the prison warden said, as more details emerged about the partially foiled prison break. Friday, unconfirmed reports said one man, a former inmate, had been arrested in connection with organising the jailbreak from outside. Standard Tribune was still confirming the identity of the suspects. But we have now confirmed that former finance minister Polycarpe Abah Abah in pre-trial detention at the facility over suspected theft of public funds was not involved. Rumour had spread in Yaounde Thursday that Abah Abah had either committed suicide or had been shot in an attempted jailbreak.
