Over 23, 500 cases report since May 2010; risk still high

In an outbreak lasting ten months now, cholera has killed 472 and sickened 23,570 people in up to eight of the country’s ten regions (provinces), the minister of public health revealed on Tuesday, 22 March 2011.

Cameroon lost around three trillion francs as a result of corruption during a six year period, according to a rare estimate of the cost of corruption by the national anti-corruption commission (NACC).

YAOUNDE—A passage train heading to the Cameroon capital Yaounde was delayed for many hours Tuesday after a passenger came down with cholera deep in the night, the railway company Camrail said.
