| Cameroon gives S. Korean firm go-ahead for diamond mine |

Cameroon has approved the application of a South Korean company to mine diamonds in the East region, according to ministry of mines and Korean government sources. President Paul Biya Thursday issued a license for CK&K Mining to extract diamond from Yokadouma for 25 years. The mine would be part owned by the state which controls a 35pc stake with the rest controlled by the Korean company.
