African Ministers of Economy and Finance will, from 16 to 17 December, converge in the Cameroonian capital city, Yaoundé, within the framework of an Extraordinary Conference of African Ministers of Economy and Finance (CAMEF) organized by the Department of Economic Affairs of the African Union Commission (AUC), APA quoted an AU press release as saying here. The CAMEF meeting is aimed at reviewing the recommendations of the study on "Alternative Sources of Financing the African Union" and the Protocol and Statute establishing the African Monetary Fund (AMF) which will be submitted for adoption to the African Union Summit in January 2011 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the AU said. Participants will be drawn from AU Member States Ministries of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and Legal Affairs, regional economic communities, and regional development and investment banks. Other participants will be from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, United Nations Development Programme, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank, and Islamic Development Bank, according to the commission. The Commission said that the Conference will be preceded by a meeting of economic, financial and legal experts scheduled to take place from Monday to 15 December.
